Saif Ali Khan starrer Chef released this Friday at the box office. The film didn’t create a strong buzz before its release and received mixed reviews from leading critics of the Bollywood. The film was expected to make decent first-day box office collection but unfortunately, the story unfolds in a surprising way.

Chef has collected much low than the expectations. From the very beginning of the day, news of low occupancy spread in the air and the stiff competition from hit holdover release Judwaa 2, played the game against it. But the fact is that if the content of the film is well written and presented in an adequate manner, then it can pass every hurdle in its journey at the box office.

Chef Registers Low First Day Box Office Collection

  • Friday – Rs. 1.05 crores

Since the first-day box office collection is not a good figure, the poor word of mouth of the audience is expected to go against it. Also, now it has become imperative for the film to perform exceptionally well on Saturday and Sunday to sustain at the box office. Saif Ali Khan has done a really great work but the poor footfalls on an opening day is a subject of worry for the filmmakers.

Newton also registered low figures on its maiden day but later managed to remain stable in the next two weeks. So, it will be interesting to watch how well Saif Ali Khan‘s Chef performs on Saturday and Sunday.
