Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is doing exceptionally well at the box office. This movie is now officially 2nd Successful movie of Akshay Kumar after Jolly LLB 2. Now TEPK is on the path to cross 100 crores. And if everything works in the favor of the movie, it might just do it within first week itself.
If JHMS had been a good film, it might have affected TEPK a little bit, but thats not the case. And there is no major upcoming movie coming this Friday as well. So TEPK has enough time to help distributors recover all the losses they have suffered from the last few releases, especially JHMS and Tubelight.
Daywise Collection of TEPK till now
- Friday – Rs. 13.10 crores
- Saturday – Rs. 17.10 crores
- Sunday – Rs. 21.25 crores
- Monday – Rs. 12 crores
- Tuesday – Rs 21.5 crores (approx)
Total = Rs. 84.95 crores
This is amazing and Akshay Kumar has finally returned to making back to back commercially successful movies. His last attempt at making a movie about social and government issues was Khatta Meetha, although a decent film it couldn’t do much at the box office.
Overseas Collection
The movie is doing somewhat decently in overseas markets as well. The collection of TEPK in overseas is $2.78 Million, approximately Rs. 17.18 crores gross. The film will do around $3-4 Million more in the coming weeks.
Update: The final figures are available now and the film has performed exceptionally well as per our expectations and managed to collect Rs. 20 crores on the Independence day. The first four days collection now stands at Rs. 83.45 crores.
