Salman Khan’s Eid release Tubelight is not performing well at the box office. It is continuously degrading in its performance at the theaters. Earlier it was expected to give a stiff competition to Dangal and Baahubaali 2, but the statistics are revealing a completely different story contrary to our expectations. In spite of releasing on 4350 screens and on Eid’s Eve, the film has disappointed the audience and reviewers.
The film had collected 106.86 crores in its first week. This is a lowest among Salman’s earlier releases on Eid. The reason being the film had not received good reviews from the reviewers and also fails to lure the audience. Our early estimate for its second Friday was 3 crores, but the film has failed to cross this mark.
On the next few days, the film swings between the status of average to flop. On it’s second Friday, it has collected approximately 2.25 crores. On it’s 2nd Saturday, it has collected approximately 3 crores. On 2nd Sunday, it has earned approximately 3.50 crores. On second Monday, it earned 1.40 crores and subsequently decreased in its collection. On Tuesday, 1.25 crores come in its pocket. On Wednesday, has collected approximately 1.05 crores and on Thursday it is expected to collect approximately 95 lakhs.
So as per our early estimates, the total collection in its second week will be around 14 crores. Hence, summing up the first and second week collection, the net earned amount will be approximately 120 crores.
Tubelight is directed by Kabir Khan and stars Salman Khan and a Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and Sohail Khan. Now all eyes are on its performance at China’s box office after releasing there.
