The muti-starrer film, Welcome to New York, fared poorly on its first day and failed to impress the audience. With its poor opening at the box office, it is all set to make its entry into the list of flop films of this year. Poor Performance
Before its release, Welcome to New York was expected to present a good competition to its counterpart, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. As both of the films belong to the same genre so one can expect a close battle between the two films. But this didn’t happen on the first day as the movie failed to entertain the moviegoers.
Also, since it is a spoof film so the audience from North India could not connect with Welcome toNew York. Hence, despite the presence of Diljit Dosanjh, it received a poor response from Punjab and Delhi region.
The filmmakers tried to make it appealing by loading it with cameos of other famous stars. But things didn’t work in its favour. Due to poor reviews from critics, it lost half the battle and the audience preferred Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety over it.
2nd Day Collection Early Estimates
On its 2nd Day, Welcome to New York is expected to perform in a similar way. Since it earned low number on day 1, so WTNY would show good growth percentage over Friday. But due to poor word of mouth, it would not collect much money on Saturday. More updates will be made available soon.
