The two major releases of this week are OK Jaanu and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. Both movies are doing somewhat okay at the box office. OK Jaanu started with the first day of Rs. 4.08 crores showed a meager jump of only 15%. A better jump would have been better for the fate of this film.
Ok Jaanu Saturday Collections came at Rs. 4.70 crores, which is an acceptable figure if the movie shows a much bigger jump on Sunday. The total collection in 2 days is now Rs. 8.78 crores. The weekend should finish around Rs. 15 crores. This is a considered a poor performance because the trend is not very positive considering the low start.
OK Jaanu faced partial competition from Xander Cage on Friday, as the xXx released only at 6 PM. On Saturday, its first full release xXx: The return of Xander Cage collected a decent amount of Rs. 7 crores net. The total collection including paid previews is not approximately Rs. 8.9 crores.
Since xXx has a much better word of mouth spreading than OK Jaanu, a bigger growth is expected from this Hollywood flick on Sunday. Also, high ticket prices for 3d shows of this film is a factor in more collections.
