Tiger Zinda Hai released at the box office yesterday and showered the distributors with a lot of money. The film became the biggest Hindi opening film of 2017 with a whopping Rs. 33.75 crores initial. Though there were expectations from the film to break the Rs. 35 crore barrier, but the stiff competition from two regional movies Velaikkaran and Hello (Telugu), affected the business of the film significantly.
TZH – 2nd Day
We are now hoping that Tiger Zinda Hai 2nd day collection goes past the first day. But as of now the film is showing strong trending. This Saturday is a Bank Holiday as well, and people would love to enjoy their Christmas weekend with an entertaining film. Tiger Zinda Hai is the entertainment which people are looking for. TZH made it to the highest grossing movies on day 1 by securing 5th spot.
As of 2 PM, on Saturday the trending is almost on par with 2nd day. Some Single screens which dominated the early morning shows with 100% occupancy started a little low today with 80% occupancy.
Multiplexes have shown significant improvement in the morning shows. Now it remains to be seen if the movie goes beyond Rs 33.75 crores or below that mark.
Early Estimates
As per our early estimate and assuming that the film picks up in the evening, the TZH Saturday collection should be near Rs. 32 to Rs 34 crores. There won’t be a big jump or a big drop.
Public Response & WOM
The Public response to this film has been fantastic, as people are loving it. The word of mouth for this film is also very good. Critics have given the film above-average to highly positive reviews, which works in the favour of entertainment masala films.
The Responsive of this film is much better than the previous movie of the series – Ek Tha Tiger.

Update (4:30 PM): The film is still going strong. Footfalls are definitely higher than yesterday. Mumbai & Delhi City are roaring. The Collection in these 2 centers is definitely going to be higher today.
Update (Sun, 9 AM): The final collections are now available and the film has shown a small growth. The figure for Day 2 is Rs. 34.5 crores. A Film with a such a huge opening is able to hold up on day 2. This is Fantastic news for Tiger Zinda Hai.
