Fukrey Returns and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety are movies of the same genre. Both the low-budget movies started their journey at the box office on a solid note and entertained the audience to the fullest. Fukrey Returns was the second part of Fukrey while SKTKS is inspired by the concept of Pyaar Ka Punchnama series.
Due to an excellent opening and growth, Fukrey returns earned more than SKTKS in the first weekend. Also, it crossed Rs. 50 crores mark in week 1. But in the second week, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety gained momentum and collected over Rs. 20 crores. It surpassed the box office collection of Fukrey Returns in the second week.
In the third week, Fukrey Returns collapsed due to the release of Tiger Zinda Hai and only managed to collect Rs. 3.59 crores. On the other hand, SKTKS is doing wonders even in the third week and has crossed Rs. 90 crores mark at the box office. If SKTKS manages to earn over Rs. 100 crores then it would become the first non-cast and low budget film to achieve this feat.
