Ranbir Kapoor had really rough few years at the box office. His Last genuinely successful film was Barfi which was a very unique and completely different concept based movie. All his attempts thereafter were mediocre or complete disasters.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani which was RK’s major success is now a nearly decade old film. If it released today and we account inflation, its collections would be around Rs. 170-180 crores. APKGK had the same pair and almost the same genre as Jagga Jasoos.
Now one Movie “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” was one movie which released last year and it decently at the box office, but couldn’t be called a success because it was still an underperformer. Thanks to its higher budget.
