Contrary to the expectations, Mubarakan started its journey with a decent opening of Rs. 5.16 crores. On Saturday, the film witnessed a growth of approximately 40 percent and on Sunday, it again managed to show a growth of more than 40 percent. These figures show that the film has picked its pace and gives a sigh of relief to its makers.
The film is also facing a competition from the steadily sailing film Lipstick Under My Burkha. Mubarakan was expected to receive a warm opening because Bollywood has not seen a good comedy movie since some time. But the figures are narrating a different story.
Mubarakan needs to perform exceptionally well on the weekdays to attain a respectable berth in the list of comedy movies. The timing of its release is not very suitable as Shahrukh Khan starer Jab Harry Met Sejal is releasing next week. So, it has got very less time to raise its collections at the box office. Also, LUMB has surprisingly created a stiff competition for Mubarakan.
