Aiyaary failed to perform well on its opening day and fell badly on the ground with a low collection. The film not only received a low response in the morning shows but also did not grow in the evening. Aiyaary did not receive positive reviews from the critics and also faced competition from the holdover releases and a new Hollywood release. Competition from other films
For thriller films, it is of immense importance to collect a strong collection on their first day. But Aiyaary failed to achieve this and turned out to be the lowest opening film of Sidharth Malhotra. Also, Aiyaary faced difficult to survive in front of Padmaavat, Padman, and the Hollywood film, Black Panther. The long length and poor script of the film worked against it.
Saturday Collection Early Estimates
Aiyaary collected Rs. 3.36 crores on Friday, which is a very low amount. In fact, it is the lowest opening among Ittefaq, A Gentleman, and Aiyaary. Clearly, the audience did not like the film hence the negative word of mouth would work against the film on Saturday. Also, for thriller films, it is not possible to grow significantly on the 2nd day with a poor collection on their first day.
On Saturday, Aiyaary is not expected to show big jump and would earn only Rs. 11-12 crores in the first weekend. Keeping in mind the competition from other films at the box office, the 2nd day collection of the film would earn around Rs. 3.80 crores.
Black Panther Shows Significant Growth on Saturday
The new Hollywood film, Black Panther started its journey at the box office with a good collection. The film earned Rs. 5.60 crores on its first day(Including paid reviews on Thursday). On its second day, it is going to grow significantly and would take its two-day collection around Rs. 13 crores. Black Panther has presented a stiff competition to the other Bollywood movies. Update: Aiyaary showed a growth on Saturday and earned Rs. 4.04 crores. The two day total stands at Rs. 7.40 crores. Black Panther earned Rs. 6.65 crores on day 2, which takes its first two day collection to Rs. 12.25 crores.
