Is it because of his acceptance of bad scripts for the sake of friendship?
With the disheartening failure of Jab Harry Met Sejal at the box office, critics feel that Shah Rukh Khan has returned to his original comfort zone of romancing with an actress onscreen. According to the audience, the narration and story of the movie was too boring and dull. His movie could earn only Rs. 60 crore in the first week of its opening. It has certainly raised big questions in the minds of his fans that why Shahrukh is not reading the scripts before signing for his films.
In a recent interview with Shah Rukh Khan, he was quite candid and made a confession that he doesn’t choose a film by its director. He even added that he finds it quite hard to reject a film as he feels that every director should be given a chance to portray their story on the big screens. This interview was taken just before the release of Jab Harry Met Sejal. Shah Rukh Khan also made his point clear that he finds it extremely hard to say “no” to a certain film. If he has to say “no”, he would wait for months and try to give excuses which don’t sound impolite, just like what happened in the case of Ek Tha Tiger. He was offered the role which Salman Khan had played, but he politely refused to do the film.
Shah Rukh Khan feels that it is a big honour for him when directors come up to him and ask him to do a certain film. After Raees, Jab Harry Met Sejal is the second box office failure of Shah Rukh Khan and people are not happy that he is taking friendships too seriously in an industry which is known for pure business.
Shah Rukh would be doing the next film for Aanand L Rai where he will play the role of a physically challenged person. He is working quite hard for the film and we really hope this film brings his career back on track again.
