Padman and Raid, both are based on true stories. Padman is Akshay Kumar starrer, whereas Raid features Ajay Devgn in lead role. Released at just one month difference, both the movies had set great expectations before their release.
Padman narrates the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who made low-cost pads and helped rural women. Raid, on the other hand, brings back India’s money from the clutches of an evil minister. That is, Raid narrates the event of longest raid ever done in the history of India.
Both the movies opened to a great start. While on an opening day, Padman stands out. Over the weekend, Raid crosses Padman. Raid was made on a very low budget as compared to Padman. And it covered its budget in just around 2 days. Whereas Padman took an entire weekend to cover its budget cost. Both the movies are almost close to each other every day. But in the longer run, Raid wins the battle.
