Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety was earlier supposed to release on 26th January 2017. But due to big-budget movies like Padman and Padmaavat, it had to change its release date many times. Finally settling for a 23rd Feb release. And it clearly did a lot of benefit to the movie.
This movie had used an apt strategy to be in news continuously. They brought back Honey Singh after quite a long time. And after every few days, they used to come out with their new song, keeping the craze of this movie alive. Bringing the Pyaar Ka Punchnama Couple again on-screen has already brought a boost to the movie.
Comparing SKTKS to Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 is a very interesting battle since both of them had garnered huge publicity much before their release. Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 clearly benefitted from the success of its 1st part. On the other hand, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety garnered publicity from the PKP Couple, Honey Singh, and their superhit dance and party anthems.
