Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Raazi are two different films. The former is a masala film while the latter one is purely a concept based movie. But they have one thing in common, which is they are 100 crores grosser films of 2018. What is more interesting about the two films is they came as a surprise and rocked the box office with their superb performance. This is a big achievement for both the low-budget films.
The masala film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety started its journey at the box office with a bang. It crossed Rs. 45 crores mark over the first weekend and it also fared well over the weekdays. Due to the stronghold of SKTKS at the box office throughout its lifetime, it managed to easily surpass Rs. 100 crores mark and settled with a net total of Rs. 109 crores. SKTKS became the first non-cast and low-budget Hindi film to earn over Rs. 100 crores.
Raazi surprised everyone with its rocking opening at the box office. Being a female-centric film, no one believed it to take a strong start. But it not only held strong in the beginning days but also earned more than SKTKS its first three weeks. It is a remarkable feat for Raazi as being a content film, it is not at all easy to earn such a huge amount. Raazi witnessed a little drop and easily crossed the total of SKTKS by the end of its third week.
