Rocky Handsome is looking to open well at the box office. Being the only Hindi release of this post Holi weekend, this John Abraham starrer performed very well on the Thursday paid previews. The final nos are not out, but major multiplexes reported an average occupancy of above 50%, with most shows being housefull. Friday is also looking to do very well, with early shows set to starts with 30% occupancy rating and shooting upto 60% by the evening, which is a very good figure.
The film is Facing Competition from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has also released all over India in multiple Languages and is aiming to set a new Hollywood record world wide. BvS may not break Fast & Furious 7’s Record, but it sure is going to do very well at the box office. Both these movies can co-exists simultaneously. In fact, three movies as Kapoor & Sons from last week is also looking to do well in its second week as its first week was highly consistent.
John Abraham has really picked up a Genre of his own. Rocky Handsome is his own Production as well and is directed by Nishikant Kamat of Force and Drishyam Fame.
Update: Thursday Paid Preview Collections are out. Batman vs Superman collected Rs. 3.75 crores net, and Rocky Handsome collected a fair Rs. 1.5 crores net. Batman vs Superman also had an edge as its a 3D film, and ticket prices of 3D Movies are Much Higher than 2D Movies.
