Salman’s Tubelight is heading towards an Average to Flop status. In spite of releasing on Eid and on around 4300 screens, the film has not performed well. Before the release, the speculations were that it might give strong competition to Baahubali 2 and Dangal. Salman’s earlier Eid releases have performed exceptionally well but Tubelight is lowest among all. The film neither received good response from reviewers nor from the audience.

Salman Khan and Eid Week 1 Collections:

  • 2017: Tubelight – Rs. 106.86 crores
  • 2016: Sultan – Rs. 229.16 crores
  • 2015: Bajrangi Bhaijaan – Rs. 184.65 crores
  • 2014: Kick – Rs. 155.31 crores
  • 2012: Ek Tha Tiger – Rs. 128 crores

Tubelight clearly earned less than all other Salman Khan releases in the past 6 years. The film earned 4.5 crores on its first Thursday. And since no other Bollywood movie has released this Friday, Tubelight becomes the only option for Bollywood fans to watch. But taking into consideration its past week performance, our best estimates are that it will earn around 3 crores on its second Friday.

Had this movie been performing well like Salman’s earlier releases, we would have expected it to cross the mark of 10 crores on its second Friday. But in the current situation, there is very limited hope for this movie on this weekend. As per our estimates, the second weekend collections will not cross 12.5 crores.
