Tubelight has finally been hit by average reviews. The film which got complete thumbs down in critics review has managed to receive a somewhat mixed response from the audience. Till now what I have heard even Salman Khan fans saying is that this movie is a one time watch. That being said, the performance is expected to go down in the coming days starting Monday.
Eid-Holiday Benefit
Monday is Eid and was supposed to be a huge day. Tubelight which is running on 4400 Screens was expected to do around 30-35 crores on Monday. But that idea seems far fetched. The film could do better business overseas today. But its India business is slowing down and performing under the mark.
As per early reports which are coming in, the 4th-day collections of Tubelight are going to be same as Sunday which was Rs. 22.75 crores net. So Expect a similar performance today, which would take the 4 day total of Tubelight to a Decent Rs. 86 crores net for the first 4 days.
The film lags behind other blockbusters like Sultan & Bajrangi Bhaijaan and will not join their ranks. Bajrangi Bhaijaan was also a venture of Kabir Khan who has also directed Tubelight. It seems that people love to see Salman Khan in an Action Role more than anything else.
Update: The Monday collections of the film are here and it’s slightly lower than the estimates. Yes, it’s poorer than the poor expectations. The film collected a mere total of Rs. 19.09 crores on its first Monday. This takes the total collection till now to Rs. 83.96 crores net.
