A Gentleman was one of the most eagerly awaited films of the Industry. Unfortunately, it failed at the box office. It was definitely affected by the riots in East Punjab and Parts of Gurgaon and Delhi. But even apart from that, Mumbai Region which was supposed to be a major hub for the film could not put up decent figures.
A Gentleman Weekend
Here are the first weekend figures for A Gentleman.
- Friday – Rs. 4.04 crores
- Saturday – Rs. 4.36 crores
- Sunday – Rs 5 crores (estimated)
Clearly, this results in a weekend of 15 crores and makes it impossible for the film to do a business of more than 25 crores lifetime and makes it yet another flop of the year.
Although this does affect the Industry a lot, it also affects the career of Sidharth Malhotra as a solo lead.
Babumoshai Bandookbaaz
This movie is doing somewhat decently considering it’s a low budget film. The Movie Babumoshai Bandookbaaz collected a decent amount on its opening day and it will easily manage to recover its investments. But it’s not up to the mark as previous movies of a similar genre have put up better figures. But again, we can blame the riot situation in North India.
Here are the First weekend figures for Babumoshai Bandookbaaz
- Friday – Rs. 2.05 crores
- Saturday – Rs. 2.10 crores
- Sunday – Rs. 2.8 crores (expected)
But clearly, this movie will do around 10-12 crores lifetime and recover its budget.
