Both the films are a different type of films of Akshay Kumar. Airlift was a patriotic movie while Padman is based on a social cause. Also, Airlift was a thriller film and portrayed the biggest ever excavation in the highest of mankind. While Padman is a content-based film and is based on the fight of a man against the social issue of menstrual hygiene of women. The similarity between the two movies is both are based on a true story and are biographies of some person.
Airlift released in the Republic Day Week and managed to get a good opening. The film showed excellent growth over the first weekend and crossed Rs. 40 crores mark in the first three days. On weekdays it received a benefit of Republic day holiday and earned good collection.
On the other hand, Padman received decent support on its opening day but showed similar trending on the next two days of the weekend. The difference in their opening is only due to the subject of Padman. Airlift received good support from the audience while Padman didn’t get full support from the small town audience.
