Ranbir Kapoor starrer and home production Jagga Jasoos released this Friday and opened to highly mixed reviews. One kind of reviewers call the film unbearable and painful to watch. While 1 kind refers to the movie as a masterpiece. This has generated confusion and curiousity amongst the audience at the same time. And there is still no clear verdict on this film when it comes to word of mouth. The opinions are highly mixed.
But How does this Translate into Box Office Growth?
The thing is — it doesn’t. The film showed very limited grown in its Saturday Box Office Collections. Jagga Jassos started off with an average first day Rs. 8.57 crores net. And the jump on its next day was very less as it managed to collect only Rs. 11.53 crores net. Now it becomes very important that Jagga Jasoos does extremely well on Sunday, but that doesn’t seem very likely.
As per early estimates, Jagga Jassos’ Sunday box office collections are not going to be any more than Rs. 14-15 crores, which translates into a weekend of around Rs. 34 crores approximately.
For a movie that comes with a big budget of Rs. 80 crores, its ending towards a becoming a possible flop no matter how good the weekend is as the start wasn’t impressive. Even in best case, the film will just overtake its budget to avoid getting a disaster status.
The film is also facing competition this week from Hollywood releases like War for the planet of the apes and Holdover releases from last week like Mom and Spiderman: Homecoming.
