Veer Zaara opened extremely well and took the second highest opening of the year. The film did well over the first weekend and became the highest grosser in its first three days. Because of the stronghold on the weekdays, Veer Zaara became the top earner among all films in the domestic market.
It crossed the mark of Rs. 17 crores in its first seven days and also maintained itself strong in the second week. Veer Zaara came at the second spot in terms of the earning in the week 2. Due to its powerful performance in the lifetime, it became the highest Hindi grosser of the year.
In the overseas market, Veer Zaara collected Rs. 55 crores and became the highest grosser Indian film in that year. It was declared a blockbuster in the overseas.
