Priyanka Chopra’s upcoming Bengali project Nalini directed by Ujjwal Chatterjee is under trouble over some objectionable scenes. This film reflects the relationship between Rabindranath Tagore and his English teacher Annapurna Atmaram. During 1878, legendary author Rabindranath Tagore visited Bombay before leaving for England and it was then when he met his brother’s friend’s daughter Atmaram. Annapurna Atmaram taught him the conversational English and during this session, Tagore fell in love with her. She was then named Nalini and was the heroine of Tagore’s first publishing Kavi Kahini.

The problem started when the team of Nalini movie provided the Kolkata’s Visva Bharati University’s approval committee with the script of the movie for validation. Everything was perfect except two scenes. The first scene is the kissing scene between Rabindranath Tagore and his teacher Atmaram. And the other one is where Atmaram will kiss a suitor while Tagore looks on. Both the scenes are called as objectionable by the approval committee and they have asked to drop the scenes.

They have also added that they are ready to approach Kolkata high Court if those scenes are retained.

However, while talking to Priyanka Chopra, she has added that this story is not created by them and research has been conducted thoroughly.

So, lets see if those scenes are finally retained or dropped.
